The Spanish painter Miguel Berrocal, born in 1933, lives in Italy. After studying mathematics and chemistry he studied with the sculptor Angel Ferrant and received several foreign scholarships. Built up in segments, his faceless torsi with their brightly-polished plain surfaces remind us of the classic Greek role models in their heroic greatness, but also their tragic entanglements.
